Nearly 25,000 Experiencing Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Around twenty-five thousand homes in Queensland's southeast were left experiencing outages on Monday morning after powerful weather events swept through the region, producing strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Massive Hailstones and Extensive Damage
Locals reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were working to restore energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also experienced power outages after Melbourne recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services received over five hundred calls for help across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

During the peak on Sunday, over 28,000 electricity consumers in Victoria were lacking electricity.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the most rainy day, with ongoing thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both areas.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
