Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to water supplies, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

He said that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 rockets struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the urban area experienced intense attacks throughout the evening. A minor lost their life and three other people were hurt.

The strikes follow nights of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are occupied by invading troops.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the country's energy grid, with attacks already impacting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and officials were bracing for further attacks.
